This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the Award Winning Idle Rocks Hotel and Restaurant, in St Mawes, Cornwall.

As The Idle Rocks Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for managing operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Manage, train and engage your team, developing them to the highest of standards. 

Objectives

· Coordinating daily restaurant management operations at The Idle Rocks.

· Responsible for the delivery of first-class guest service at all times.

· Responsible for growing the team spirit between the front of house and kitchen staff.

· Maintaining the restaurant’s revenue & quality goals.

· The smooth running of the restaurant operations.

· Maintain company philosophy through standard operating procedures and sequence of service.

· Recognise and ensure correct service standards during the operation.

· Feedback & complaint handling.

Responsibilities

· Coordinate daily Front of House restaurant operations.

· Management of F&B staff rotas according to business demand.

· Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.

· Respond efficiently to customer complaints.

· Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve performance.

· Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.

· Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.

· Train new and current employees and maintain service practices.

· Provide strong leadership.

· Recruitment and sourcing of excellent staff members that believe in the goals and philosophy of the company.

· Keeping Food and Beverage and overhead trackers up to date and accurate.

· Ensure the restaurant space and terrace is maintained and presented to the highest level with all F&B staff sharing the same eye for detail.

· Strong knowledge of the EPOS system and the contact for any related issues and training.

· Support events and large group bookings to ensure they are run effectively with appropriate pricing and costs considered.

· Co-ordinate with reservations team to maximise bookings and manage cancellations & no shows.


About you

· You have to have flair and passion for service to achieve the highest of standards.

· You have to be flexible, articulate and have a desire to progress to the next level.

· You have to be a Restaurant Manager who is keen to expand their knowledge and skill set.

· You will be hard working, reliable, trustworthy, and competent enough to work alone and have the experience and people skills to work within a team.

· You must have worked in a similar restaurant or hotel environment previously and have at least 2 years’ experience as Assistant Restaurant Manager.

· Be calm and focused in a high pressure, busy environment.

· You must have a good understanding of and the ability to manage food stock to help hit and maintain relevant targets.

· Willingness to learn and a great commitment towards work.

The hotel will depend on a Restaurant Manager who is 100% committed to the success of the whole hotel, not just F&B.
