Position Summary

The Spa Butler is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Spa & Wellness Department through the preparation, presentation, cleanliness, and maintenance of treatment areas and specialised wellness experiences. The role ensures all spa facilities, treatment rooms, and hydrotherapy services, including seaweed baths and other bespoke bathing treatments — are prepared and maintained to the highest operational, hygiene, and guest service standards. The Spa Butler plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring all treatment environments are welcoming, safe, hygienic, and fully prepared in advance of guest appointments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Cleaning & Hygiene Standards

  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout all spa and wellness areas.
  • Clean, sanitise, and reset treatment rooms, hydrotherapy facilities, baths, changing areas, relaxation spaces, and equipment following each guest use.
  • Prepare and clean specialised bathing treatments including seaweed baths, mineral baths, and therapeutic soaks in accordance with established spa procedures.
  • Ensure all surfaces, fixtures, furnishings, and spa equipment are maintained to five-star luxury standards at all times.
  • Conduct regular checks of treatment and guest areas to ensure immaculate presentation throughout the day.
  • Adhere strictly to all hygiene, infection control, and health & safety procedures.
  • Safely handle spa products, cleaning chemicals, linens, and operational equipment in line with company standards.
  • Promptly report maintenance issues, equipment faults, or presentation concerns to Spa Management.

Guest Service

  • Provide a professional, courteous, and discreet service to all guests at all times.
  • Escort guests where required and assist in maintaining a calm and relaxing spa environment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and operational needs.
  • Be familiar with the spa experiences and facilities, along with their general benefits, to confidently answer guest questions and support the overall guest experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all guest interactions.

Spa Preparation & Treatment Support

  • Prepare hydrotherapy areas and specialised bathing treatments in accordance with established spa procedures and standards.
  • Prepare and manage seaweed baths, mineral baths, therapeutic soaks, and related wellness treatments.
  • Ensure all treatment equipment, linens, robes, towels, and guest amenities are fully stocked and presented to luxury hospitality standards.
  • Assist Spa Therapists and Spa Management with operational setup requirements throughout the day.
  • Maintain ambient standards within treatment and relaxation areas including cleanliness, presentation, lighting, temperature, and organisation.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels of spa supplies and notify management of replenishment requirements.
  • Assist with laundry handling and linen management.
  • Support the wider Spa & Wellness team during busy operational periods.
  • Participate in departmental training and ongoing service improvement initiatives.
